Description
At Botany, we’re on a mission to empower more people to grow more plants in more places. We’re stoked to unveil this new offering, a six-week, hands-on learning cohort exploring ecological and restorative landscapes. This is something we’ve been crafting for several months, and we’re so excited it’s almost here! Our goal for anyone who joins us is that we help enable and empower you to be a joyful and active participant in your own outdoors. We’ll do this by discovering and exploring how and why we plant, including how to put plants together and manage them for long-term success in a way that honors where they came from – they’re own genetic memories of wild spaces. Ultimately, plantings that honor and recognize these memories are more resilient, robust, diverse, and even restorative as they create spaces for wildlife, wonder, and beauty. These plantings also help us move toward a future where we live and work in greater balance and harmony with the world around us as we recognize the collective positive impact of our shared landscapes and how we care for them. You'll become skilled in identifying essential ecological design principles and how they relate to the challenges and opportunities of our landscapes. Our journey begins with first understanding and exploring “wild” plant communities which enable us to adapt, interpret, and implement a designed version of those communities in our own spaces. You’ll walk away from this experience with a comprehensive and personalized site plan, plant list, planting plan, and management plan for your own landscape, plus the knowledge, tools, and resources to implement your vision and see it through to long-term success.
