NORTHPORT, AL — Five new members were unanimously appointed to the city of Northport's Zoning Board of Adjustments on Monday, with each council member nominating one person to fill each vacancy going into the new terms.

The seven-member advisory board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. and is made up of five regular members and two supernumerary members. It is tasked with making recommendations to the City Council relating to planning, zoning, ordinances and other matters.
Here are the new appointees, along with the council member who nominated them and the expiration date for their term:
Tena Phifer - nominated by District 1's Christy Bobo for supernumerary position, with term set to expire in December 2023. Kevin Shobe - nominated by District 2's Woodrow Washington for a regular position, with term set to expire in December 2022.Aubrey Dale - Nominated by District 3's John Hinton for regular position, with term set to expire in December 2023. Chad Haynie - Nominated By District 4's Jamie Dykes for regular position, with term set to expire in December 2021.
