TUSCALOOSA, AL — A former teacher and softball coach at Holt High School has been indicted on two counts of first degree rape and separate counts of first and second degree sodomy after a victim filed a report with police claiming she had been sexually assaulted when she was a student in the late 1990s. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Christmas Eve and has since been released after his bond was set at $45,000. According to a report from NBC 15, Snow was working as a sixth grade science teacher and softball coach at Causey Middle School in Baldwin County at the time of his arrest. In February 2020, a victim filed a report with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office alleging that she had been sexually assaulted when she was a student in the Tuscaloosa County School System during the late 1990's. The multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit assumed the investigation, which lasted roughly 10 months before the findings were presented to the grand jury. Tuscaloosa County School System spokesperson Terri Brewer said in a statement to Patch that Snow was employed with TCSS beginning in August 1996 and resigned from his position in May 1999. She then said the Violent Crimes Unit would remain the point of contact for information on the case. VCU Commander Captain Jack Kennedy pointed out that there is no statute of limitations on sexual assault cases in Alabama, saying the victim in this case was a juvenile at the time of the offense, as well as the victim of a sexual assault. He then said for those reasons specific details will not be released. "It took a great deal of courage for this victim to come forward," he said. "If there are any other previous students or persons who feel that they may have been victimized by Snow, we encourage them to contact the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690."
