AUBURN, MA — An Auburn man who previously served a prison sentence for possessing child pornography was indicted last week after federal agents found explicit images of children on his electronic devices, according to federal prosecutors. Christopher Rondeau, 35, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of possession of child pornography on Dec. 30, according to court documents. Rondeau was arrested on Nov. 6 at his School Street home after agents found several mobile devices containing over 1,000 images and 168 videos, some depicting girls between the ages of 5 and 17, according to court records. He has been held in jail ever since the arrest. Rondeau was first arrested in September 2015 on charges of receiving child pornography and possession of child pornography. He pleaded guilty in July 2016 and was released from prison in August 2019. Because of the previous conviction, Rondeau is facing a mandatory minimum sentence of up to 10 years in prison if convicted again, according to federal prosecutors.
