Despite the coronavirus pandemic, animal shelters in the Birmingham area have dogs, cats and other animals ready and waiting for someone to take them home. Across Alabama, there are thousands of dogs, cats and other animals of all ages and sizes without a home — and many of them are located within driving distance. In the search for an adorable new family pet, consider checking out a local adoption center like Two By Two Rescue, where Jersey the dog is waiting patiently.
