I have to rehome my Nile Monitor, Joanna. I really wish I did not have too, but since adopting her, we have hit many hardships and cannot care for her as originally planned. She needs a better home with someone who can provide proper enclosure and enrichment. She was adopted with intentions of building her a large room enclosure, however the pandemic has hit us extremely hard and I really want to see her thrive, where I cannot do that here.
She’s about 2 foot long with her tail, she’s eating super worms, mice, chicken, shrimp and eggs. She is not hand tamed just yet, however I can catch her with a gloved hand and transfer her to a warm bath and she will relax and allow for contact. There will be a small rehoming fee, I really want someone experienced with reptiles because this is not a pet for beginners, she will get over 6 ft and will be difficult to house. I will not entertain first time reptile owners. I will keep her as long as I physically to make sure she goes to a good forever home. I do love her and this decision is very difficult for me to make. She was a gift and my dream pet, but I will do what I have to for her best interest.
