WHAT IS IT? An in person 6 week course that focuses on all aspects of songwriting and music production. It is intended to for anyone interested in creating all aspects of music themselves. The course has an emphasis on electronic / hiphop styles but the information can be used for any genre. The beat you create during the course will be professionally mixed and mastered for you by Move Quiet Records. For the duration of the course you will have access to the instructor to ask any questions or for guidance. Course outline (subject to change): 1. Music Making Intro / Your Tools & Style / Basics of Production, Engineering, Songwriting 2. Sampling & Loopmaking 3. Drum & Melody Writing 4. Songwriting / Style 5. Music Production & Engineering Part 1 6. Music Production & Engineering Part 2 / Releasing & Performing Music *** LIMITED TO 15 PEOPLE *** WHERE & WHEN? The classes are being held at Better Nature Records in Sayville, New York every Saturday at 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm from October 8th through November 12th. How much does it cost? Each session is $75.00 and the total course is $450.00. REQUIREMENTS 1 OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED FOR SIGNUP: Laptop with Audacity (free software, but you should probably get a free DAW) Laptop with DAW of choice (Digital Audio Workstation, both free and paid software) Smartphone (capable of installing and running Koala app, ~$10 cost) Tablet (capable of installing and running Koala app, ~$10 cost) Portable multitrack recorder & sampler You must have at least one of the items on the above list to bring to the class.
