Remember what it was like to be in a BAND and TRULY ENJOY YOURSELF ? No Politics, No Drama, No Primadonnas? The pleasure of when it all comes together, making good music, the camaraderie, some laughs, getting the crowd out of their seats and onto the dance floor? The CATEGORY 5 BAND is doing a reboot. We’ve actively played numerous gigs from Englewood to Ft Myers since 2016 but suffered a setback with Covid, then Stan, our lead guitar player passed last year. We’re not youngsters. Some of us are retired and some are still working full time. We don’t need or want a second job. If you are seeking a second job, it’s not us. The goal is build back 3 good, clean sets to gig out 1x month. We don’t come to rehearsal to practice, we come PREPARED We’re seeking like-minded LEAD and BASS guitars with backup and a few lead vocals for classic rock cover but not the same old same old that all the other bands are shoveling. No Mustang Sally. We don’t want to be playing B sides to ashtrays either, but it’s important to us to offer up some memorable music where the crowd says, “OH WOW, I REMEMER THAT, I LOVE THAT TUNE” We rehearse Tuesday nights and have all the needed equipment to go get gigs and play out again and we have a dedicated air conditioned, sound padded band room on US 41 in Port Charlotte.
