PETRA is currently seeking journeyman-level construction labor with experience in carpentry, framing, drywalling, and/or demolition. POSITION SUMMARY: A goal-driven individual that succeeds by providing customer and service support. Delivers the desired Customer Service experience while maintaining professionalism in a team-oriented atmosphere. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The incumbent is expected to complete work assignments under little to no supervision, exercising latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Reports directly to Assistant Superintendent. Coordinates with Project Superintendents and other Field Technicians to ensure that all jobs are completed on time with the highest quality. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Maintains the “Safety Culture” • Represents and understands the Petra Safety Program. • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times. • Assist in the implementation and compliance of all company policy OSHA safety standards are followed on each job site for the carpentry staff assigned. • Knows how to identify hazards and to “STOP” imminent dangers. • Mentors others on safe practices. • Reports any noticeable violations to immediate Supervisor. • Communicates with the supervisor any safety training of the carpentry/drywall/demolition staff that may be necessary. 2. Performs and maintains carpentry/drywall/demolition/service crew assignments to achieve the highest levels of productivity. • Approach each day with a positive attitude. • Procures and generates task lists for projects assigned. • Directs daily activities of tasks assigned. • May assist with the delegation of tasks to others to ensure quality and efficiency. • Will communicate issues with personnel performance to Assistant Superintendent. • Communicates regularly with the Assistant Superintendent, Project Superintendents, employees, and other office staff. 3. Supports best practices in carpentry/drywall/demolition and other assigned tasks to ensure the highest level of quality and production standards are met on each project. • Utilize established blueprints and specifications to accurately and correctly complete each project assigned. • Help educate and train others in carpentry/drywall/demolition trade activities. • Responsible for production and quality control on assigned jobs. • Responsible for an assigned range of rough and finish skilled carpentry/drywall/demolition work. 4. Assists with material and tool needs in carpentry/drywall/demolition, and service scope of work on assigned projects. • Based on individual projects assigned will identify tool needs necessary to complete the project with approval from Assistant Superintendent • Working with the Assistant Superintendent, or Project Superintendent will calculate and provide material orders needed on assigned projects. • Completes the scope of work for the project assigned. 5. Develop and manage relationships with other Team Members for effective job completion. • Works directly with carpenters and laborers to develop and maintain efficient project completions. • Maintain open and honest lines of communication with Team Members. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two to three years of carpentry/drywall/demolition, and/or craft skills experience in similar construction industry with a good driving record. Thorough knowledge of these aspects of construction (equipment, methods); and 10hr OSHA training preferred. Must have the ability to lift and move 50lbs. Other abilities such as to climb and maintaining body balance on ladders, scaffolds, and high structures, with proper certifications and safe practice methods necessary. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential. Expected to be the competent person on assigned projects and to maintain and acquire necessary certifications.
