September 23, 2022 7-9 p.m. "Tell Kathy I Love Her" Kathy Loveless, MS, CSP, Founder and CEO, Loveless Enterprises, Inc. Kathy Wood and Scott Loveless were kindergarten sweethearts, but she left him after 1st grade when her family moved. They re-met 16 years later and married 6 months after that. Members of the Ensign Peak Ward of the Salt Lake Stake since 1978, Kathy and Scott love the Gospel; their two daughters, Lindsey and Amanda; and nine grandchildren. Scott served in bishoprics and the Salt Lake Stake Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kathy has been a Gospel Doctrine teacher for decades, served in the Primary, and produced the international “On Stage Europe” productions in Greece, Italy, Switzerland, France, England, and throughout the Washington, D.C. area with ward members from Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. when they were members of the Arlington, Virginia Ward. Then everything changed. Kathy was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-smoker lung cancer; Scott was diagnosed with colon cancer. In 2012, Scott died. They were married 41 years. Come hear the inspiring story of Kathy’s survival and Scott’s coming back to seven people after he died. Scott graduated from the University of Utah, received J.D. and LLM degrees from Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. and worked for Utah Senator Wallace F. Bennett. He later became a name partner with Parr Brown Gee and Loveless. Kathy was a student body officer and member of the Chi Omega Sorority, Miss Utah for Miss America, debater, and Phi Beta Kappa Political Science graduate from the University of Utah. At 22, she was appointed Editor of the national water and power magazine, Reclamation Era for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in Washington, D.C. She holds a M.S. from American University, and her Ph.D. studies at George Washington University were in quantitative data analysis. Now an international speaker, she speaks on a wide-range of business-improvement topics for such clients as the CIA, U.S. Department of Defense, IBM, DuPont, and AT&T. September 23, 2022 7-9 p.m. "My Walk Thru Heaven" Kim Rives, Author Kim Rives is a 25-year-breast cancer survivor. But there was a time when she died. The story captured in her book, My Walk Thru Heaven, details her miraculous experience of meeting The Savior, Joseph Smith, and many others. Advised to return to her earthly body, but given her choice, she did return. She resides in South Logan and is the mother of 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She loves music and plays various instruments. Kim is a singer and songwriter of over 130 songs, 12 of which are featured on her CD entitled, “Miracles can Happen.” In addition to her book, she has written for various magazines, including the New Era. Kim travels to many of the western states sharing her story through word and song. She has studied nursing, music therapy, and guided imagery. Come hear her miraculous, true story. “Connecting Through the Veil” Mark R. Hasara, Lt Col, USAF (ret) and Valerie Hasara In 2010, during his 14-month fight with cancer, Jeffrey Hasara made a deal with his mother. She could exercise faith in miracles to the end, but if the end came, he would return and explain things to her. For the first time, Mark and Valerie will share their story of their son’s returning after death. Lt. Col. Mark Hasara, USAF Ret. is a High Priest and witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Called to numerous positions of leadership and authority in his church, he testifies the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true, and the Savior has been slain for the sins of the world. His message is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his atonement, we can live with our loved ones in the presence of Heavenly Father once again. Author of the book, Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit and host of “Lessons from the Cockpit” podcast, Mark speaks professionally to audiences based on his experiences. Mark is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, Instructor Pilot and veteran of four wars. He was the Chief Operating Officer for all air refueling operations across the Middle East after 9/11. He created the only PhD-level syllabus in global air refueling operations, the Air Force KC-135 Weapons School. Valerie Hasara is a minister for Jesus Christ, an everyday-life philosopher, a pursuer of true principles and a woman on a lifelong quest to find Joy in every step. Losing her 16-year-old son, Jeffery, to cancer fueled her relentless study of the body, mind and spirit’s ability to self-heal. She has been to the bottomless pit of grief and not only survived but found keys to harnessing God's power in one's life by leaning into Joy. Valerie is the creator of the Joyful Energy Project: mapping God’s blueprint of life. She is personally driven to expand people’s understanding of Joy into a 365-day view of life’s natural rhythms and energies.
