Description

Please join us for an evening highlighting three local authors and their recently published works. Each author will have a table for meet-and-greets, book signings, and conversation with friends, family, fans, and potential new readers. This month's event features W.J. Herbert, Kwyn Bader, and Kathryn Mitchell. RSVPs are not required, but they are appreciated. (They help us keep in touch in case of changes, and let us know how many people to expect.) Fans are welcome to bring books from home to have signed, or to purchase books here. Refreshments and beverages are also available for purchase throughout the event. Please, no outside food or drink. About the authors and their books: W.J. Herbert’s debut collection, Dear Specimen, (Beacon Press, 2021) was selected by Kwame Dawes as a winner of the 2020 National Poetry Series and awarded the 2022 Maine Literary Award for Poetry. In poems written for the daughter she will leave behind, the dying speaker of Dear Specimen examines grief, culpability, and love, asking: what value can we ascribe to our lives and do we as a species deserve to survive? Kwyn Bader is an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, and author whose work explores history, race, music, and culture from the unique vantage point of his bi-racial background and multi-cultural upbringing. He is co-author for the new book, That Girl Lay Lay: It's Time to #Slay, which tells the autobiographical story of teen influencer and role model Alaya 'Lay Lay' High -- rapper, dancer, style icon, yoga lover, gardener, and soon-to-be Nickelodeon star.  Kathryn Mitchell is author of Living Aligned, a book that enlightens and inspires the reader to create a life where they feel bliss, truly trust the self and have access to our highest intelligence. Readers who yearn to be inspired by the self-help, mind, body and transformational genres will be captivated by the easy to apply methodologies of Living Aligned.
