Description
I have a wonderful female canary that needs rehoming. She is free, but I am very picky about the home she will go to! Please read this entire post and do your research on canaries. She will need a cage at least 3 feet long, so she can fly and stretch her wings. She needs seed food plus chopped hard boiled egg, and green lettuce, sprouts, and fruit treats such as apple and orange. All canaries need to bathe regularly, so she will need sufficient container for bathing and fresh water daily.
Please read: This hen canary is probably about a year and a half old. She has developed a sneeze that I hear her make every morning, as though she is trying to clear her nasal passages. She has been housed with other birds and they are not affected. She also successfully raised two clutches of babies this past Spring. She is otherwise healthy and eats well. I have treated her for air sac mites, the most common cause of this sort of sneezing sound in canaries. But the sneeze persists. I do not believe it is life threatening, or that it affects her function in any way. She has good weight and is alert and happy. No, she is not hand tame as most canaries are not. No, she does not sing, as the males are the ones that do. She chirps.
Please e-mail me for further information and send me a picture of the cage she will live in, and more about yourself. Bird experience preferred. Thank you.
