Formed over 10 years ago by Mark Shilansky and Les Harris Jr., MetaBeat is based on their mutual love of The Beatles. Taking it a step further, they’d dissect songs that might go together well in medleys and could work with a jazz flavor while still remaining true to the original versions. Mark Shilansky then put together some amazing musical arrangements! The next step was to ask like minded musicians, (jazz musicians who also loved The Beatles), if they might be interested in getting together to play Mark's great new charts. MetaBeat’s first concert performance took place at The Berklee Performance Center in February of 2013. The group’s annual June shows at The Press Room in celebration of Paul McCartney’s birthday have become a Seacoast favorite over the past ten years. Taylor O’Donnell on vocals; Chris Klaxton on trumpet, guitar and vocals; Mark Shilansky on piano and vocals; Les Harris Jr.on drums and vocals; Eric Byers on guitar and vocals; Mark Poniatowski on bass A Listening Room Experience Hermit Woods is excited to bring talented artists from New England and beyond to perform for you. Each performance will provide you with an intimate, up-close, and personal experience with the performing artists. To do this, we ask that our audience please refrain from talking during the featured show. Your silence will allow the artists and the audience to immerse themselves in the experience, which is not otherwise possible in larger, noisier environments. All shows commence at 6:00 PM with a warm-up artist, Chris Mega, on piano. We encourage you to arrive early and enjoy food and wine while listening to our first act of the evening. The kitchen will close at 7:00. When the featured artists takes the stage we will ask that the audience remain quiet during the performance. After the show, we invite you to interact with the artists and purchase any music or merchandise offerings if available.
