Please join us on September 14th 6-7PM at the Gladstone community center for a targeted focus group to help us find the hidden art gems in Clay County. (Light refreshments will be provided) The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on many industries, but especially sectors like the arts, which are based on interaction amongst communities and individuals. The arts of our region, and Clay County, specifically, are no exception. Since the beginning of the pandemic, and the shuttering of organizations and arts programming, ArtsKC has been committed to helping the hardest hit entities through advocacy, educational programming, and finding sources of support funding. Asset mapping is a systematic process of cataloging critical services, benefits, and resources within the community; it provides information about the strengths and vitality of a community. We plan to use this data to help uncover solutions that will aid in pandemic relief needed throughout the county, hopefully, to bring the arts back even more robust than before. It is our hope that this project will be the start of dedicated efforts within the county to support and uplift the arts community through various means and resources, the first of which will be our work to know where we stand as a community of arts entities, artists, and cultural contributors.
