He has been a strong supporter of disability services, with particular emphasis on expanding services for families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders. He serves as chair of the Legislative Task Force on Autism and has been a leader in passage of legislation to create an insurance mandate, an autism waiver program, funding for the CES Waiver waiting list, and regulations to restrict the use of seclusion and restraints in public schools. He has supported numerous initiatives to create equal access for children with ASD who live in rural underserved communities in the Arkansas Delta. He has been an active supporter of the AAROC’s mission to bring Hope, Direction and Support to families in the autism community.
