Description
Hey Portland. Just thought I'd post something and see who's out there. Would be nice to find some other musicians or a band who aren't too set on anything and at least somewhat open to creative direction. I have a fair amount of interesting material that I'd love to test out on you and see if it sticks. I'm also open to yours and working out stuff together.
My violin background is a bit different in that I got my start studying Indian Classical music. Since then, I've played in rock bands (both guitar and violin) and dabbled a fair amount in western classical, Irish music, jazz, and various other styles. I have a pickup and a 2x12 cabinet which gives me a pretty rich sound compared to a mic'd violin. So I could either play w a guitar or instead of one ;-)
Also write a bunch of songs, but don't really sing and currently only have a steel string. I can play guitar or not, but I think chances are you might like some of the material if you're open to learning new stuff.
Eventually it would be nice to get some gigs. Not against recording eventually. But I have much more fun actually playing than I do slaving over Protools or a social media image.
I'm pretty open minded, but would esp like to hear from people who don't mind sometimes diving into alternate rhythms/melodies. Bassists (reg or upright), singer/songwriters who don't sound like the rest (no offense to the rest), piano/keyboards and maybe guitarists.
If you're interested, please send more than a one liner about yourself, preferably with a way to hear some of what you do. I will reply in kind.
