Soon after I adopted my cat he got scared and scratched me. This was before I got him vaccinated. The scratch was very small, but even a tiny scratch can cause rabies. I went to Community First hospital and explained what happened. I was in the waiting room for hours. Eventually I gave up. At some point I took my cat to the vet and the vet said he doesnt have rabies. I got my little man his rabies shot. I'm fine. Well I have some stuff wrong with me, but not rabies. I think the people at the hospital didnt take the incident seriously because it was my own cat that scratched me. But still. It is possible for a pet cat to give you rabies. I heard of people that adopted a rabid kitten and got exposed to rabies from the kitten. Fortunately they got the shots before they got sick. By the time you get sick from rabies its usually too late to save your life. Very few people survive rabies after the symptoms start. Rabies is very serious!!! Stop playing around with rabies!!!
