Please read this entire post so you know the details of this project to determine if it right for you or not. RETIRED SENIORS wanted for a START UP BAND to do rock n roll and pop music from 1950s-1970s. Looking for a Bass guitarist, lead guitarist, drums and keyboard player. Being able to sing is a plus but not absolutely necessary. If you have not played in band in a long time, but you practice your instrument on a regular basis and are looking to get back into playing with other musicians feel free to reply. I play rhythm guitar and can do lead or background vocals. You must be willing and dedicated to rehearsing on a regular basis weekly- bi weekly at a rehearsal studio in Farmingdale, NY and be willing to chip in for the cost, estimated to be $20-30 per member per session. Rehearsals will generally be held on a weekday during the day which is why retired seniors are requested. If you are still employed, there is no point in replying. The purpose of this project is not just to get together for jam sessions but to eventually get good enough to play in public. At the same time the goal is to have fun Each member will make a list of songs from this era they already know or want to play and the band will pick one from each list to learn play repeating the process. The purpose of allowing each member to select songs is to keep everyone interested. The goal is to eventually learn between 40- 50 songs If you are looking for an already established band to immediately play in public, this project is not for you so please do not reply. If you are not willing and dedicated to rehearing regularly, and are just looking for an occasional jam session, this project is not for you so please do not reply. In the past, I have received many responses and met with some who initially express an interest, but are not willing to invest the necessary time and effort.
