Job Summary: SCA maintains of fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. The Mechanic position is a mid-level mechanic position with opportunity for advancement. Work will include preventative maintenance and light repairs of various chassis manufacturers and up fit configurations. Full benefit package including Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k)Company paid life insuranceVarious voluntary benefits like – short-term/long-term disability, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and additional life insurancePaid vacation time & holidaysCompetitive compensationCareer advancement opportunityWeekly pay on Fridays, if hourly statusOn Demand Pay (through Ceridian: Dayforce) – Get paid as you earn!Job Responsibilities: Maintain the cleanliness of trucks and support equipmentMaintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yardMaintain accurate records of each repair performedPerform chassis preventative maintenance and light repairs to chassis and up fit componentsAssist senior mechanics with advanced repairsChange tiresComplete basic inspections and associated repairsWork performed in outdoor environments and exposure to variable and sometimes adverse weather conditions.Job Requirements:3-5 years of mechanic experience or recent trade school graduateToolbox and basic hand toolsAbility to perform standard chassis PM services (fluid and filter changes and grease components)Ability to perform basic inspections and complete basic repairsAbility and willingness to assist higher level mechanics and perform repairs under their supervisionHave a valid driver’s license, preferredExperience working on heavy equipment, preferredWillingness to learn and have a positive attitudeConsistent attendanceUse all required PPE and work safelyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including overtime on occasionWork in high noise environments with exposure to vibration and fumesActive, physical work occasionally involving lifting 50 lbs. Frequently involves carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching and standing.
