Country Oaks Animal Hospital in Palm Harbor, FL is seeking a kennel technician to join our busy boarding facility connected to a full-service veterinary hospital and rehabilitation center. Ideal candidates should possess excellent communication skills, be compassionate and enthusiastic with a positive attitude, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills. The position can vary from 25 to 40 hours per week depending on the season and includes working weekends & holidays. Presently, our animal hospital is utilizing curbside service due to the pandemic. Staff must wear a face mask at all times and gloves when interacting with the public for their own safety. Experience: One (1) year of experience in a boarding facility is preferred Must be 18 years of age or older Our Ideal Candidate: Self-starter with ability to work without supervision Responsible and reliable with superior attention to detail Positive attitude and ability to maintain composure in a busy work environment Has a flexible schedule and reliable transportation Physical Effort - able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted Maintain a professional appearance with excellent communication and client service skills Cares for our boarder pets as though they were their own! Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting pets in and out of the facility Feeding, walking, medicating, bathing, and monitoring boarding animals Maintenance of the hospital including keeping the workplace, treatment area and rooms and lobby area clean, as well as restrooms Laundry and other general duties required in a boarding facility Assist medical technicians as needed Schedule: Day shift Holidays Monday to Sunday Weekend availability required Salary: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour starting pay.
