who YOU + anyone u wanna bring what opportunity for warm & safe social connection w/ other cool folks when this weekend (September 10th at 6:30pm but come whenever) where lawn outside Heckman B (east campus near hybl) what to bring yourself + other people snacks or outdoor games to share a water bottle + sunscreen an interest in connection through conversation/quality time BONUS: WEAR SOMETHING COLORFUL OR SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU. come as you are! other ideas: picnic blanket, sidewalk chalk, razor scooter, book, journal, sketchbook, disposable camera, bubbles, crochet project, frisbee why last weekend I had a wonderful dinner party with my housemates, their partners, and some random friends. it filled me with joy, peace, gratitude, love, and a lot of other beautiful feelings that I rarely feel on this campus. i went to bed feeling so happy and fulfilled. i want to recreate that feeling and share it with more of the lovely people i have crossed paths with on this campus - from random people i've met in line at colorado coffee to people i've been connected with from year one. peers, professors, staff. however, our dining table can only fit so many people..but there is plenty of space outside! if you see this invite, i immensely value our connection and enjoy your company; i would be honored to have you attend this informal picnic of sorts. i aim to create a space that is as warm and safe as possible, so i invite you to bring your partners, kids, friends, mentors, family, coworkers, collegues, etc. group settings can be stressful so i would love everyone to come with someone they love or care about - even if you don't know anyone else, you'll have your person/people by your side. everyone is welcome. my goal for this event is crafting community for those of us who have had a hard time feeling comfortable on this campus. additionally, it is an opportunity to connect - an opportunity that many of us have not had in the last few years. i invite you to bring something to share - snacks, chalk, an outdoor game - but the thing that matters most is your presence, your company. i imagine conversation and music and maybe some running around and laughter and joy. food and activities can add to the atmosphere, but social connection is the most important element of this event. bring something to share if you are able to, and don't stress if you aren't able to at this time.
