This class will focus on threat engagements while incorporating simulated injuries and weapon malfunctions. This is NOT a shooting class as much as it is a problem-solving class. During this course, students will be challenged to find the best possible ways of engagement on a target(s) while being under simulated stressful conditions. Training on a stationary target in a comfortable controlled environment will surely increase individual shooting skill and marksmanship but will not simulate the realities of an actual encounter. What will you do when faced with a stressful situation and possible injury or weapon malfunctions? The only way to train for such scenarios is by simulating these “less than ideal” moments in training. This class will be working on retaining the basic fundamentals while putting students in uncomfortable positions and show them how to think their way to success. This class will be simulating injuries to both dominant and non-dominant hands, and students will be incorporating tourniquet applications during the drills to enhance your engagement skills and increase your survivability. Students will also have to overcome weapon malfunctions with both rifle and pistol induced by the instructor(s). Please have basic fundamentals of rifle and pistol as we will not spend time working on basic skills. We will do a few basic warm up exercises at the beginning or the class but we will not be working on the basics for introductory courses. Also please have a pre zeroed optic prior to taking this class. Required equipment- - Rifle and pistol. (Sling for rifle recommend) -250 rounds of pistol and 500 rounds of rifle ammo. -Three pistol and two rifle magazines and a way to carry them on person. -Ear and eye protection. -A holster that has ACTIVE RETENTION (NO SERPA HOLSTERS ALLOWED) -Snacks and water -Battle belts and plate carrier recommended but not required. -Cleaning kit for both rifle and pistol This will be a physical course that requires moving, uncomfortable shooting positions, simulated injuries, and some stress induced scenarios.
