Nature-Based Maps of the Psyche: Revitalization of the Collective Soul

The goal of these lectures is to establish a deep experiential relationship to our inner and outer experience, our conscious and unconscious. By utilizing the order found in Nature, working with our dreams and bodies, we come into contact with an intelligence and consciousness greater than our own. When we connect to this transpersonal source and make it the organizing principle in our lives, magic and transformation occurs on individual, communal, and collective scales. These lectures will be experiential and interactive. It is highly encouraged to bring a participatory spirit, notebook and pen. 1st Evening: Cartography of the Human Spirit - will cover Bill Plotkin’s 3-dimensional map of the psyche which utilizes the four directions of North, South, East, and West to chart our inner territory. I’ll also introduce the practice of dreambody work, an expressive and experiential method to explore and dance with the land of dreams. 2nd Evening: Stan Grof’s Perinatal Matrices and The Holographic Universe will explore the drama of birth, the profound and unbreakable link between birth and death, and how working in altered states of consciousness can bring about immense healing and insights that escape us in our waking, ordinary state. Our final evening will wrap everything together with an exploration of the Mysterium Coniunctionis, the culmination of the alchemical procedure in which the hopelessly disparate opposites find the chain that unites them, coming together in such a way as to produce the philosopher’s stone or elixir of life, that which transforms all of life’s peaks and valleys into a cosmic synthesis of expanding and deepening consciousness. As we will explore, the ultimate aim of the alchemical procedure is to perform the hieros gamos, or the holy marriage, with the conscious and unconscious aspects of ourselves, uniting the ego with the transpersonal Self. All participants will receive recordings after the event. These lectures are informed by nearly a decade of deep personal work, research, and exploration.
