Join us for an evening filled with movement, music, and community, where we will move together through an embodied "Hero's Journey"! Our evening will be lightly facilitated with music, movement prompts, imagery and meditation mantras!! As always, Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement experience where you are invited to feel FREE, to Move as You Wish, to be YOU, and to explore the power of tuning in to your body in a non-judgmental space!! The Hero's Journey is a concept popularized by Joseph Campbell, and influenced by Carl Jung, which identifies common elements among myths throughout cultures and ages, where the "hero" receives a call to adventure, to leave the ordinary world, where they confront fears and demons and return to their people with gifts of learning <3 Event Flow: * Opening Circle - 7pm * Dance - 7:15 - 8:45pm * Closing Circle - 8:45 - 9pm **Please arrive early so you are present for the opening circle and able to set the intentions for the space. The theatre will be open before 7pm for arrival and setup. $15 tickets in advance $20 tickets at the door This session will be guided by Tricia Chirumbole, founder of Ecstatic Dance Pittsburgh in 2013, and facilitator of movement experiences at retreats, festivals, conferences, and community gatherings across the US for 9 years. Tricia's guiding principles are trust, warmth, and playfulness <3 ------------------------- Space Guidelines: Enter the building on the side from the 45th street entrance. If you walk up 45th street from Butler, the door is the very last entrance. There is to be no food or drink in the theatre aside from water No shoes to be worn on the dance floor. Please bring grippy socks or your bare feet. There are restrooms in the back of the theatre. Parking on the street. COVID policy: masks optional with both vaccinated and unvaccinated participants welcome. Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
