Description
Hey all! My name is Aaron W., and I am looking to start a band!; I hope you are having a swell day! I am a 30-year-old drummer and keyboardist who hails from Detroit, Michigan who is now living in Costa Mesa, California. I have been playing since I was a pre-teen, took private lessons for five years a piece for each instrument, and have done open mic nights, session drumming for various artists, and filled in on small gigs here and there for people. I have been living here the past 20 or so years, but am now thinking it would be great to start up a band. My background: - 20 years piano playing and composition (Trained classically, but learned jazz, and alternative/classic rock) - 18 years drums (Trained on jazz, funk, bossanova, Latin, and samba) My influences are kind of all over the place: - Alt Rock/Indie/Singer-Songwriting: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Bloc Party, Death Cab For Cutie, Ben Folds Five, The Shins, The Mars Volta, Blink 182, Bright Eyes, Elliott Smith, John Butler Trio, America, Vampire Weekend - Latin and Afro-Influence: Quincy Jones, Courtney Bryan, Romeo Santos, Prince Royce - Electronic Dance Music: Madeon, Porter Robinson, Deadmau5, and Kaskade - Jazz: Dizzy Gilespie, Chet Baker, and more The band I am hoping to form is: - Guitarist, Bassist, Keys, a singer, and perhaps another instrumentalist as needed - I would love people who have gigged before, who know the music industry, and who are committed to meeting up once every week or every other week with a gig once a month. - People who are in their late 20's and early 30's. I would love for this to be something that is enjoyable and fun, where we can hang out, too, outside of the music! How you can find music I have written and performed: - YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAWBalls * If you are interested, let me know! If not, and you are just looking for a session drummer or someone to jam with, I am totally cool with that, too! I love playing music, and now that I am working in a place where I have a more steady 9-5 job, I can develop a consistent band. If you have read this far, thank you! I look forward to hearing from you soon! With warmth, Aaron
