Instrumental post-rock band seeking a guitarist/keyboardist

Meets

Portland OR

Description

Greetings Guitarists of the Portland Metro Area, We're an instrumental post-rock band (drums, bass, guitars) with three album releases. Sadly, our second guitarist moved away this spring. We're just about finished writing our next album, which we'll go into the studio at the beginning of 2023. Given this, we're starting the hunt for a delightful guitarist/multi-instrumentalist to join the band. You can listen to our first three releases via: * Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2hdPrlDzLhhuwSnRioIdqh * Remnants https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LARDEySv69Y (our full length--we pressed this on vinyl just before COVID hit) * Virga https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSp7RLLZC5E (we recorded this during COVID as an ambient experience...we want to do more of this) * More on Bandcamp: https://mightymissoula.bandcamp.com/ Influences range from Godspeed! You Black Emperor, Mono, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, This Will Destroy You, Explosions in the Sky, Caspian, Modest Mouse, Bibio, Hammock... What are we looking for in a second guitarist? Someone to learn/perform layers that we've been unable to incorporate into some of our live shows and help write new material. Someone to laugh with. Someone who geeks out more on writing/playing music than over the type of gear they own. EXTRA-CREDIT: EXTRA-CREDIT: You can play a bit of piano/keyboards and are into synths. (as we have some layers we want to incorporate into live shows) Some logistics: * We practice, on average, twice/week... (often one weeknight from ~5:30-8 pm and on Sunday afternoons) * We like to stay organized (i.e., google calendar invites, consistent practice times) * We split the rent on a $320/mo practice space, which you'd have 24/7 access to * We're aiming to audition folks starting in mid-April/May... * We're starting to book a few shows in the Pacific NW this fall/winter (we have a lot of vinyl we didn't get to sell in person due to COVID) Are you interested in talking further and auditioning? Please introduce yourself via email, share links to existing material, and let us know how you could see yourself contributing to the next phase of our project. (note: it could take a few days before we get back to you) We are looking forward to chatting! - The Mighty Missoula https://mightymissoula.com https://www.facebook.com/mightymissoula/ https://mightymissoula.bandcamp.com/
