For the first time ever on the big screen, the untold true story of the 1893 overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom by a Western power just as an outbreak of leprosy engulfs the tropical paradise. The new government orders all Native Hawaiians suspected of having the foreign disease banished permanently to a remote colony on the island of Moloka’i. But an indigenous Hawaiian cowboy named Ko’olau fights for his people and becomes a legend. All proceeds from this movie premiere benefit the 3rd Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Rocks! celebration on October 8, 2022 at the Mayo Fields in Stowe, Vermont. Intimate acoustic performances by acclaimed Mohawk recording artist and three-time Native American Music Awards winner Bear Fox & Kontiwennenhawi, Blues Hall of Fame Inductee & Blues Music Award Winner Joe Louis Walker, and Vermont's very own bluesman, Dave Keller. Cash bar and heavy appetizers served.
