Indigenous Woman Expert in Botany

Description

I am doing research about the history of botany in America and want to feature a woman who lived sometime between 1750 and 1930 and place her in context of her tribe and time. If she lived on the Great Plains, all the better. There are many woman who played prominent roles, in politics, medicine, and education. But has proven to be challenging to find one woman to highlight who understand plants in context of indigenous understanding of plants. There were medicine men, and some were considered to be shaman, so treatment was both physical (with plants) and metaphysical (with spirits). I have plenty of research on that. I am only concerned with finding a woman who can be profiled. Any advice?
