Meet Lucy Boyadjian Janjigian, a widely traveled painter, muralist, and sculptor. Discover her paintings—the Thematic Series, Individual Works, and Commissions. She is a United Nations delegate and member of several non profit boards working to end oppression in its many forms. Born in Jerusalem of Armenian descent, Lucy Janjigian spent her early years in an English mission school, where she studied English and Arabic. “I grew up in a very diverse area,” she says. “I played with Muslim, Arabic, Christian, and many other children who lived in my neighborhood. We all played together and learned together and really enjoyed the time we had together.” That all changed for Janjigian in 1947 when the United Nations voted to partition Palestine. “With that division, my world completely changed,” she recalls. “People were displaced and homes were taken and demolished.” Lucy later became an educator and spread her knowledge and experience through teaching and art.
