It’s my birthday. I’ve never been big on birthdays. But today all I want is to hear from you. I know you are not real. I fell in love with an illusion you created to gain my interest and attention. You always have needed things to conquer and I was no different. And yet I would fall all over again. Losing you is hard because, before you, I never knew what it could be like to love so hard and so deep. And getting back to that place seems so impossibly hard. Like you have set the bar that nobody else can possibly clear and like I will spend the rest of my life chasing that feeling. But today, all I want is to hear Happy Birthday from you. And I know I will not. And it hurts.
