Paddle Birding at Washington Park Arboretum and Union Bay Natural Area

Explore the water near the Washington Park Arboretum and Union Bay Natural Area by kayak! Paddle birding can provide great views of birds on the water. We will follow ethical birding practices and do our best to avoid causing birds to fly or interrupt their behavior. All registered attendees are required to complete the form below (click link) ASAP so we can pair lenders with borrowers. We have a limited number of kayaks available to borrow for those who need access. https://forms.gle/MVHpGJnHK5YiYUVB6 SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS • 10:30 a.m. – Meet at the parking lot at the end of E. Foster Island Road to help each other unload • 11:30 to 1:00 – Explore the Washington Park Arboretum inner waterways, then move over to the Union Bay Natural Area • 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. – Paddle back and help each other load equipment People bringing their own gear OR borrowing gear should be familiar with how to safely use their gear/borrowed gear. FBC Seattle is not able to offer lessons or safety demonstrations. Attendees assume all personal risks. It is important to us to make sure that we continue to take care of one another during our in-person events. We plan to follow current health guidelines. Masks are currently optional for this outing, but we encourage people to bring a mask for close social interactions. This outing is limited to 15 people. We also require that all participants follow our code of conduct. Whether you're new to birding or a seasoned songbird seeker, this will be a great opportunity to connect with our feathered friends and fellow feminists. All are welcome on this outing!
