Borges recorded her vocals at home and sent them to her collaborator/producer Eric "Roscoe" Ambel, the longtime guitar slinger and member of The Del-Lords, The Yayhoos, The Bottle Rockets who has worked with Joan Jett and Steve Earle. Ambel would take them and then figure out which of his many contacts would fit each song. It worked. "The cumulative effect soaks up that rattly, rockin’ Yayhoos energy and slides in a twang and a thump to knock you around some. “Lucky Day” sounds like The Go-Gos gone country with Lucinda Williams out front," wrote a reviewer for No Depression.
