In Autumn, we can find many medicinal herbs, mushrooms, berries, nuts and other nutritious wild foods. Come learn about these seasonal items as well as plants, trees, and mushrooms that can be foraged at other times of the year. I will teach you how to identify edibles safely, methods of preparation and preservation techniques, nutritional and medicinal value. Bring a camera and/or notebook so you can document our finds, collection bags (plastic, paper or cloth), and a knife or shears. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots as the terrain may be uneven, rocky or muddy, at times we will leave marked trails to ID edibles (signing of Hold-Harmless Agreement is required). Children 6-12yrs are $15 at the door with a paying adult- 13yrs and up tickets available here on Eventbrite: $27 (message me to reserve a spot for your child). Insect spray and sunscreen are highly recommended. I will have my Elderberry Syrup, Poison Ivy-Neutralizing Wild Herbal First Aid Salve, tasty Wildflower Jelly, Mushroom Tincture, Dandelion Lotion, and other things I make from the wild for sale before and after class. Portion of proceeds will benefit Turn Back Time, a non-profit organization.
