Responsibilities • Receiving incoming freight and checking the material for damages or shortages. • Distributing material to the proper stock locations. • Filling special orders and/or backorders as material is received. • Following up with appropriate departments, carriers and/or vendors on receiving discrepancies, damages and shortages. • Checking and packing material to be delivered. • Maintaining shipping equipment and keeping work area clean and safe. • Maintaining assigned inventory stock locations making sure material put away has the correct locator and the shelves are kept neat and orderly. • Filling orders for delivery to customers. • Assuring all batched managed material is labeled accurately and inventoried, as needed. • Maintaining delivery vehicle in clean, good working condition and monitoring maintenance and mileage data, as appropriate. • Maintaining daily driver logs and vehicle inspection sheets, as appropriate. • Operating and maintaining all equipment in a safe manner and adheres to all local, state, and federal traffic and safety regulations. • Supporting the operations functions of the warehouse. • Informing proper departments of “stock outs”, inventory discrepancies and other inventory problems or concerns. Non-essential Functions • May assist the City Desk and Will Call areas in providing customer service functions including, but not limited to, order entry, filling orders, processing returns, expediting, technical assistance, Will Call, and other functions, as needed. • May provide delivery of material to customer sites. • Assisting with loading and unloading of trucks. • Notifying supervisor of any building or equipment maintenance, repairing needs and/or any security concerns. • Assisting with other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor/manager. *Wage for this role ranges from $16.00 - $18.00 Schedule - Shift start: 7:00AM - Shift length: 10 hours - Days: M-F daytime hours with regular overtime Benefits - Health, dental, vision insurance available after 30 days - Paid time off - 401k Requirements - 2 years of steady work history - Warehouse & Forklift Experience - Should have a full understanding of truck routes and may coordinate deliveries with our own trucks, assigned freight companies or other carriers based on special requests or the best way to ship material. - Must pass drug screen - Must pass background check About Border States Industries Border States is one of the largest 100% employee-owned companies in the United States, and each employee-owner has a real stake in our long-term success.
