Saturday, September 17th, 2022 is the 15th annual “Kids Day Maricopa” The event promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental Awareness. Dr John A. Donohue an the Maricopa Rotary will be hosting and coordinating the event from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Maricopa Wells Middle School 45725 W Honeycutt Ave, Maricopa, AZ 85139. The Mayor signed a proclamation dedicating the 3rd Sat of Sept. as “Kids Day” in the City of Maricopa. Mayor Nancy Smith, Councilman Rich Vitello, Councilman Henry Wade, Councilwoman Amber Liermann, Pinal County Supervisor Anthony Smith, and Superintendent Tracey Lopeman are speaking at the event. The event will provide essential information on crime prevention, child safety, wellness and environmental awareness, etc. The Maricopa Police Department will be on hand to provide FREE DNA Kits for all the children and bring Police cars, Police motorcycles, K-9 Dog’s, SWAT and The CAT special unit. There will be special appearances by “Smokey Bear”, and other loved characters. The Phoenix Suns Street Team will be bringing fun and prizes. The Maricopa Fire Department is bringing a fire truck. Global Water will teach water conservation and Electrical District 3 teaches electrical power safety. Ak Chin Health services will teach diabetes prevention and health awareness. Copper Sky will be teaching water safety and the City of Maricopa will have their Big Rigs present. There will be Bicycle safety with the Maricopa PD Community Action Team, Drug Awareness with the Be Awesome Coalition & Pinal County Attorney. Pinal County Sheriff’s Dept. will have their Helicopter and Rescue division. Healthy Eating and Exercise will be taught by SunLife, Southwestern Pediatrics and Zuwa Family Care. Learn how to grow your own garden with Ace Hardware and The Master Gardeners. ATA Kids Karate, D.S.P.A. Dance, Rock Star Gymnastics, Karate Charlie, and Maricopa Children’s Theater will perform. More activities such as the First Tee golf program, the 4H petting zoo and so much more. “We provide Free food, Free drink and Free balloons for everyone. There will be special Give-aways and Free prize drawings of toys, bicycles and other exciting surprises throughout the event. The event is Free, and especially exciting to have AZ very own, DGRE reptiles and Gud Ark Sanctuary teaching kids all about our desert’s creatures and animals. Maricopa’s Finest demonstrating Drone Demo and emergency rescue. We encourage the entire community to join Dr John & May and participate in this unique, fun-filled community event!” It will improve your family’s life!
