Description
Hello all, I am reopening my certified family childcare home Guided Growth Early Learning and am looking to build a small preschool cohort (~5 children) ages 2.5-5yrs. I was originally licensed from 2014-2020 and just reopened my license effective 09/01/22. I am also now able to accept DHS ERDC pay and will be set up on the USDA food program next week to provide students with healthy balanced snacks and lunch free of charge. My hours are not yet fixed as I am open to a range of hours dependent on the schedule with the highest need/interest/inquiry. Preschool is my favorite age to teach and care for, but I have extensive experience, training, and education with children birth-8yrs. My own daughter is 4yrs old and in need of children her age to learn and grow with, which is another reason I will have primarily preschool age openings, but I am also willing to consider younger siblings of preschool students. I do not provide temp or short-term care; I am committed to providing quality long-term care and early childhood education. This enables me to create a safe, trusting, and consistent environment in which myself and my children can bond with yours. I had my garage converted via licensed and permitted work (has been inspected by the city as livable space) to dedicate space in my home for preschool centers i.e., library, blocks & building, dramatic play, math & manipulatives, art, sensory, and science. I also have a large, fenced back yard with a playground and garden, and will be working on adding a covered outdoor classroom/activity area. I have a great deal of experience personally and professionally caring for children of all ages, and over 1000hrs of education and training in early childhood care and education (ECE). I am still in touch with most families I have provided care for over the years, and they are happy to serve as references upon request. Though my license has just been re-opened my previous licensing history is still viewable on the Oregon Safety Portal https://oregonearlylearning.com/parents-families/child-care-safety-portal-overview. I am a Step 10 in the Oregon Registry: Pathways to Professional Recognition in Childhood Care & Education and am currently finishing up my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (preschool teaching) with EOU, with just 5 credits left to complete in the Fall. My GPA for my core ECE courses is currently 3.846. I have a total of 1024.5 hours of education and training in the following core knowledge categories: Learning Environments and Curriculum, Observation and assessment, Personal, Professional & Leadership Development, Program Management, Special Needs, Understanding and Guiding Behavior, Diversity, Family and Community Systems, Health Safety and Nutrition, Human Growth and Development. I am familiar with many curricular models, philosophies, approaches, and capable of writing developmentally appropriate differentiated lesson plans that serve the unique needs of each individual student in: Literacy, math, science, social studies, and creative arts in a child centered and play based manner. Themes and big ideas are determined by the interests and abilities of current students, and as such are not predetermined, but instead based upon my observation and assessment of current students. I use Head Start’s Interactive Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five to guide my planning in five central developmental domains: Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Communication, Literacy, Mathematics Development, Scientific Reasoning, and Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development. As an ECE professional I have also made a commitment to The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethical Conduct. https://www.naeyc.org/sites/default/files/globally-shared/downloads/PDFs/resources/position-statements/Ethics%20Position%20Statement2011_09202013update.pdf I am also current on my first aid & CPR, food handlers, and background check. I can provide proof of all the above during an interview i.e., my childcare license, college transcripts, my professional development statement from Oregon Registry Online, a sample unit/lesson plan, and references from previous families I have provided care for. If you have any questions, please text me at . I would be happy to discuss your family's needs. *All images used are with parent permission.
