Nanny for Brooklyn 1 Year Old

Kids

Court, New York City NY

Description

Job as a fulltime, long term care taker for our one year old son starting this fall. The position is on the books, with benefits, and paid through an agency. A bit about us: We are a kind, loving, and easy going family living in Brooklyn looking for a wonderful, loving, responsible, fun, trustworthy, and kind nanny to care for our one year old baby boy. Our situation is a little different as our son was born with a heart that needed surgeries to help it function normally. Happy to report he is healthy, home, and thriving. In every way he is a "normal" baby but due to his arrythmia, we need personal care versus daycare so that someone always has eyes on him and isn't distracted by managing more than one child. He is a silly, loving, cheeky little child that will steal your heart in a minute. He's on a schedule, two naps and 12 hours of sleep per night, eating like a champ and learning to do things like say Mom, Dad and clap. Our hope is to find someone who really loves to engage with him. While he was recovering he was unable to do things like tummy time so a lot of our efforts are spent making up that time. Our perfect nanny would love to get on the ground with him and rough house, help him build his core by playing with toys, stimulate his very curious mind by reading to him and counting blocks. We aren't looking for someone overly cautious or precious. We want someone very observant and communicative, but most importanlty highly engaging and loving. I am a fulltime creative working in the neighborhood or sometimes at home. I will pop in and out all day. My husband is an entrepreneur with a flexible schedule so each day in our house is different. We have a middle schooler, and while you won't be caring for him, you have to like him :) And we have a big hypoallergenic dog who you also don't have to care for, but have to like as HE thinks he is the babies nanny and never leaves his side! Our son was approved for 42 hours of personal care per week. We would like to break this up over five days. We are flexible for the right fit but an 8:30 start time is ideal. After 3 months the agency allows you to sign up for a top of the line health insurace, accrue vacation and sick time, and other benefits like phone bill stipend. Duties and priorities are to care for the baby, maintain schedule, help with expanding eating, cleaning of bottles/baby room/baby laundry, leave home as you found it, telling us when we are low on things we need to order, taking him outside to play/parks/finding classes or friends to get some development. We do not allow screens around the baby so all phones/ipads must be put away for shift. Our home has stairs so you must be comfortable going up and down them easily while carrying him or a stroller. Requirements: - Ability to legally work in US - Pass background/drug test - History of childcare experience - References - English speaking - Fully vaccinated - Proof of address - Identification - if hired an orientation and health assesment will be required by the agency. Both are quick and easy We will be accepting inquiries/resumes/questions for the next week and setting up phone/in person interviews asap. Agency pays $18 per hour. We are open to potentially supplementing for the perfect fit.
