Description
Does anybody know anybody interested in adopting bunnies? We have 3 very sweet Holland Lops that are simply not getting enough attention in our home. The kids used to play with them all the time, and they got to spend a lot of time outside their hutch, but as the kids have gotten older, their interests have shifted solidly to more “interactive” pets (because, you know, you can’t drag rabbits around the house, and let them sleep in your bed, nor do they particularly enjoy being wrestled with 🙄). Sparky is our boy. He’s neutered, and about 4 1/2, the girls are Twinkle & Daisy- age 3.5 ish. They have been together since the girls were tiny babies, so they MUST go together, and STAY together. They come with a HUGE, extremely sturdy outdoor hutch (custom built by my husband), a collapsible outdoor run, and literally everything else you need to take care of them….. Hutch with heater, indoor cage for when it’s too hot/ cold for them to be outside, water bottles and gravity feeders, and a BUNCH of hay and food. They do also love fresh veggies, which I will leave to you. 😉 I have not bothered to litter box train these guys, because they’ve always lived outside, but they are easy to train, and they can be allowed to run freely indoors. I would just recommend confining them to one room, without carpet. You can also put a harness on them and take them for a “walk”- you just pretty much have to follow wherever they lead. 🤣 If they’re going to leave, I really want them to go somewhere where they will get regular time outside their hutch, and a lot of human interaction. They are very sweet, and used to kids, dogs, and cats. They are also used to being handled, and will run right up to the front of their hutch when you approach. Absolute best case scenario would be an in home daycare or something, with lots of people around. These guys are VERY sweet, and I love them, so I’m willing to wait for the right fit. If we can’t find an awesome fit, they’ll stay here. They’re currently living a pretty sweet life, as bunnies go, but I think they would be even happier with more attention. Rabbits are really pretty darn low maintenance pets in terms of actual care required. My kids have no problem taking care of them with minimal oversight. They’re fine to be left over a weekend or whatever if you leave town- just stock them up on food, water, and hay and they’re good to go for a couple days. Anyway…. If you’re thinking about it, or know someone who might be, I’d love to see if it’s a good match. If not, then just enjoy some adorable bunny photos. 🙂 $100 adoption fee to attempt to ensure they go somewhere safe. Please talk to your spouse, landlord, etc to confirm you can actually have bunnies before reaching out. 🙂
