We service both commercial and residential customers, providing all customers with secure, affordable, durable, weatherproof containers in various sizes and conditions. Jake Containers is a privately held company located in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. We are seeking a full-time employee for the newly created position of Yard Supervisor. The Yard Supervisor will be responsible for everything that happens in our yard. Responsibilities include: Forklift Operation: Load/unload empty containers for drivers at the facility Stack and arrange containers in yard in accordance with company policy Container Maintenance: Inspect inbound and outbound equipment for damage Sweep, clean and washout containers when necessary Maintain and repair damaged containers in yard Prepare and manage container rental fleet Reporting: Supply pictures of containers to sales team and vendors Report inbound and outbound gate activity daily Other/Special Projects: Order, stock and inventory necessary supplies required to perform duties Schedule and document PM and service records for all yard equipment Oversee special projects in yard Show prospective customers containers in the yard Maintain and manage yard surface conditions-SAFETY is paramount Schedule outside vendors to come on site and repair. Get estimates, approval and coordinate the repair. Requirements: -Must have own vehicle with a valid NJ driver license in good standing -Local residency required -Minimum of 1 year forklift operating experience (heavy industrial forklift preferred) -Basic handyman skills -Comfortable working outdoors -Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and outlook Compensation: -Salary will be commensurate with experience -Hours are 7:30am to 4:00PM Monday through Friday -Discretionary bonus program -Vacation, PTO and other company benefits
