Description

The Maryland Dove ship design is based on the small merchant vessel that sailed to the Maryland colony in the 1600s. The ship is the same size and type as the 42-ton Dove, which escorted Ark to bring the first colonists to Maryland in 1634. Dove was used in shallow waterways along the coast while the first capital of the colony was being established.
