If you operate an outdoor recreation tourism business or are thinking about starting one, plan to join us in the beautiful Village of Shawnee for the Outdoor Recreation Small Business Roundup! This event is being held in conjunction with the Buckeye Trail Association Blue Blazes Festival on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the historic Tecumseh Theater. The trail festival is held to celebrate the diversity of the Buckeye Trail as an outdoor destination for running, hiking, and backpacking as well as a chance to enjoy the many outdoor recreation activities in the area. The Roundup will happen after the Blue Blazes trail activities are concluded and is a chance to make new connections, hear from entrepreneurs that are successfully attracting customers to their businesses, and get a snapshot of exciting developments in the recreation tourism economy that affect small businesses and trail town communities8:00 AM - Blue Blazes trail run/ hike/ walk events start12:00 - 3:00 PM - Live entertainment, food, and beverages served1:30 - 4:00 PM Outdoor Recreation Small Business Roundup Organizations attending include the Buckeye Trail Association, the Outdoor Recreation Council of Appalachia, Ohio's Winding Road, Athens Convention & Visitors Burea, Little Cities of The Forest, Perry County Parks District, Moonville Trail Association, Destination Shawnee, and more. The Roundup is a free event organized by Rural Action, Ohio Environmental Council, and the Buckeye Trail Association. Advance registration is requested but not required.
