About this event
The 80|20 Foundation has partnered with Centro San Antonio, AIA San Antonio and ASLA to bring you PARK(ing) Day on Main Ave between Houston and Travis Streets. Organizations come together to transform a metered parking space into a space for work, play, and activism. Attendees this year will experience a variety of concepts from community partners across San Antonio.
In past years, parking spaces have been converted into an imagination playground, mini-golf course and a display of the Monarch butterfly migration. This year, event goers can expect to enjoy activations that highlight the resilient nature of our city. San Antonio held its first PARK(ing) Day in 2013 and has been a partnership tradition between AIA San Antonio and the South Texas Section of ASLA for many years.
Parklet activations on Main Ave will run 10am to 4pm. In addition to parklets, there will be beverages available from Pinkerton's Barbecue and entertainment throughout the day. This event is free and open to the public. On-site restrooms, bike racks and free parking provided. Please see map below.
