Description
Come meet the board and staff of North Carolina Humanities at this intimate gathering of community friends, business leaders, musicians, artists, educators, and cultural leaders. You’ll enjoy conversation and drinks with new friends and old, while hearing a story or two about our work and our community. In particular, you'll hear how the support of our friends is essential to ensuring NC Humanities carries out its mission and vision. As a special treat, live music will be performed throughout the night by several NC Humanities board trustees! Jazz musicians and trustees Todd Wright and Douglas Jackson, with vocalist and board chair Lorna Ricotta, will share their musical talents alongside local Charlotte musicians Noel Freidline, Matt Rybicki, and Rick Dior. As we wrap up the evening, NC Humanities Executive Director Sherry Paula Watkins and Board Chair Lorna Ricotta will talk about our 50th anniversary, our new 5-year strategic plan, and will recognize our latest Large Grant recipients. Light food and beverages will be provided. We look forward to seeing you! Event Details: Note: Museum exhibits will be closed during this event. We will, however, have a special interactive animal visit during a portion of the evening and fun non-alcoholic liquid nitrogen slushies!Tickets: Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
