Curator Conversation: Aireon Fiesta DeLuxe Jukebox, aka the Artisan
2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Free. Space is limited. RSVP Recommended.
Join Lisa Shockley, Curator of Collections at the Kansas City Museum for a conservation centered around the 1947 Aireon Jukebox. Founded as Aircraft Accessories in 1937 making airplane parts, the Aireon Manufacturing Corporation of Kansas City turned to making jukeboxes after World War II. In 1946, Ernest F. Thompson patented their first Jukebox, and for three years, their Kansas City, KS factory produced them. Learn about Aireon and visit the restored model on exhibit in Corinthian Hall.
