2 Rescued From Burning Historic Detroit Home: Report

DETROIT — Two people were rescued by Detroit firefighters Friday morning after their historic Palmer Woods home went up in flames, according to a WWJ News report. Fire officials found the couple in the upper level of the 3,500 square foot 1924 English Tudor style home as flames engulfed a section of the house, the report. The smoke and flames killed one dog inside the home and officials were looking for a second dog who they believe may have ran away when the fire broke out, the report said. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire officials believe it started in the kitchen, the report said. Much of the classic home is still standing after firefighters extinguished the flames, the report said.
