Description
Carson McElheney Landscape Architecture is looking for a yard manager. We serve high-end residential properties mainly in the Buckhead community. We are looking for a self-starting motivated individual to manage our yard and nursery. This individual will be responsible for ordering hard goods, performing basic vehicle maintenance, caring for plant material in our inventory, and assist in plant sourcing and acquiring. The ideal candidate is physically fit, willing to work for extended time in all weather conditions, handy, and a self-starter.
Qualifications:
Competent basic mechanical maintenance skills
Experience in operating a forklift and bobcat or equivalent machinery
Safety-Minded
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Self-starter
Good stamina and strength for a physically demanding job
Basic horticultural knowledge and an interest in plant care
Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both heat and cold
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, drivers License (Required) CDL a plus
Job Duties:
Manage all fleet and vehicle maintenance including performing minor repairs and routine maintenance
Oversee and improve the daily functions of the yard
Load/Unload trucks and manage delivery schedule
Ground maintenance of shop including blowing and weed control
Organization and maintenance of shop plant material, watering schedules, chemical applications, and dosatron applications
Ordering of hard goods, soil, fertilizer, chemicals, pine straw
Managing green waste and trash pick up
Maintain organization and keep an inventory of chemicals and fertilizers at shop
Receive and ensure quality on all deliveries
Operate forklift and bobcat
Tag allocated material per job
Identify and throw away spent material and documenting throw aways
Assist in sourcing and picking up material for install and garden team and communicate with managers regarding deadlines
