50 years ago, in 1972, 5 men broke into the Democratic Headquarters at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. President Nixon attempted to cover-up what he knew about that break-in and was facing impeachment for his attempts. Republicans in Congress, who had supported Nixon previously, informed him that they were going to vote to impeach him, forcing Nixon to resign. Republicans didn't attempt to sprinkle glitter on doggie doo like today's Republicans are attempting to do. They thought of the country first.
