Under the guidance of the Department Supervisor and Engineer, this position requires the ability to construct full scale wood mockups of boats parts and sections for use as guide in shaping or positioning of fiberglass boat parts. May construct wooden plugs for molded parts, such as hulls, decks, cabins, and other parts for fiberglass boats. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM /Flexible to work OT if needed Responsibilities: - Constructs template, using knowledge of geometric construction. - Utilize hand and power tools and woodworking machines, such as crosscut, rip, and band saws. - Knowledge with solid surfaces such as Corian and Hi-Macs is a plus. - Marks templates with identifying data and instructions, such as number of pieces to be made, type, and weight of stock, and location for installation. Requirements: - 2-5 years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Woodworking or Cabinet Making certification (preferred) - Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. - Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. - Basic mathematical knowledge & concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. Compensation: $25.00 plus per hour. Pay rate is negotiable based on experience!
