The National Recovery Month observance serves as a reminder that when we empower communities, we are engaging in healing that extends beyond the individual. The Recovery Research Institute conducted a 5-year study that affirmed that people in distressed communities need opportunities to share their experiences, therefore, personal recovery can translate into collaborative recovery. Attendees include Veterans, VA staff, community partners, Veterans Service Organizations, local, state, and Federal government officials, and other agencies that serve Veterans. This events aims to recognize and combat as well as reduce addiction and suicide rates in our Veteran community.
