Description

The climate crisis is also a health crisis and requires systemic, interlinked action by the private sector, governments and civil society. Human health relies on fresh water, healthy food, clean air and a stable climate. And yet, those two issues are often treated separately, uncovering a lack of guidance for business on how to leverage their net zero strategies in a way that simultaneously accelerates change across these interlinked challenges. At this Climate Week NYC event, the Climate and Health Coalition - a private sector collaboration convened by sustainability non-profit Forum for the Future and co-founded by Bupa, Haleon, Reckitt and Walgreens Boots Alliance - will present its latest guidance designed to enable private sector companies to design and deliver corporate strategies that deliver both climate, and health benefits. This will be an update on initial guidance published as part of Climate Week NYC 2021, and will offer greater specificity for corporate action, with a particular focus for companies in health care, food, tech and infrastructure. This in-person panel session will also share insights into what else is needed from policy makers and investors to fully realise the potential of the private sector at this critical nexus.
